Peepul Llywelyn Fawr (prince Gwynedd) hand painted Wooden Peg Doll

The 'Llywelyn Fawr' hand-painted peg doll is a unique and beautiful toy that has been exclusively crafted for Babipur by Peepul. The peg doll is inspired by the legendary Welsh king, Llywelyn the Great, and has been intricately painted by hand to capture his likeness and character.

Llywelyn ap Iorwerth, famously known as 'Llywelyn the Great', was among the most renowned and influential Princes of Gwynedd. He was a courageous fighter, but also an astute statesman. By the time of his demise, Llywelyn had successfully unified a significant portion of Cymru (Wales) under his reign.

Throughout his rule, Llywelyn constructed an impressive network of fortresses to safeguard the borders of Gwynedd and the core of Eryri (Snowdonia). The remnants of many of these castles are still visible today.

Each Peepul Waldorf peg doll is handmade using British Sycamore wood and beautifully hand-painted with incredible detail. Warm and tactile in the hand, Kate brings her peg doll creations to life with delicate brush strokes. Each Peepul doll is unique, from the gorgeous grain to the hand painted details, and minimal facial features allowing children to decide for themselves how their doll is feeling today. Children will love incorporating this peg doll into their small world play and imaginary games, and they can be added to story sacks and for storytelling too. These Waldorf peg dolls are highly collectible and make a very special gift for a loved one, and for marking significant life events and occasions.
